After weeks of a back-to-back schedule, keeping up with workloads, and that all-too-familiar screen fatigue, we hit pause on our usual work routine and traded our desks for delicious dishes at Guevarra’s last Monday, June 30, 2025– and what a feast it was!
Guevarra’s by Chef Laudico, which has been serving for over 12 years, is known for its classic Filipino buffet with a modern twist, did not disappoint. The moment we stepped into the charming traditional, inviting house-turned restaurant, we were welcomed by the mouthwatering aroma of freshly prepared dishes.
We indulged in a spread of Filipino favorites like crispy lechon, kare-kare, humba, pancit, and a sweet confection served as the last course of a meal, like buko pandan and maja blanca. But it didn’t stop there. There were also dishes inspired by other cuisines like flavorful pasta, sushi rolls, salads, seafood, and desserts that made it feel like a passport-free culinary trip.
One plate wasn’t enough– and honestly, neither were two or three. Some of us proudly went back for fourths (you know who you are).
What made it even extra special was the laughter shared across the table. Seeing everyone laughing, sharing stories, and bonding over food was the absolute highlight. Some of us even talked about their go-to buffet strategies (yes, there’s an art to it!). For a couple of hours, it felt like we weren’t just colleagues but a group of friends sharing meals and catching up over a long-awaited bond.
There was something refreshing being out of the office environment, away from our inboxes and to-do lists. We took tons of group photos, cracked inside jokes, and savoring the break together created a sense of camaraderie that emails and chats can’t just replicate.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without the thoughtful planning and support from our amazing organizers. To Sir Bong, Sir Dave, Sir Dennis, and Ms. Michelle, a heartfelt appreciation for sharing a table with us.
We wrapped up with full bellies and fuller, happier hearts. Guevarra’s gave us more than just a meal– it gave us a moment to step away from the grind and appreciate the people we work with in a more relaxed, joyful setting.
Here’s to more shared meals, more laughter, and more chances to connect, bond, and celebrate. Because when the stress piles up, sometimes all it takes is a good meal and great company to bring us back to life.
