web designs

Web designs refer to a website’s design that is displayed on the internet. This also usually refers to the aspects of user experience of a particular website development rather than software development. During the earlier years of the Internet, web design is primarily only for websites for desktop browsers. Thus, by mid of 2010, web design for mobile and tablet browsers have become the trend too.

Web designers are the ones working on the appearance, layout, and in other cases, also the content of the website. Speaking of the site’s appearance, they are also responsible for the color schemes, fonts, and images used in the site.

How Web Designs Can Influence Users to Give Information?

European Commission’s Joint Research Centre conducted a study that showed how web design can influence a user to disclose personal information. The study used behavioral sciences to know how users react to different privacy policies and notices online.

These web designs have different areas which include web graphic designs, search engine optimizations, web development, interface design, and user experience designs created by web developers for online users who browse websites and web pages.

In the aforementioned study, the researchers analyzed a user’s reaction to a modified choice structure, the location where decisions take place, of web interfaces. Also, two privacy behaviors were measured. First is the passive disclosure, where a person unconsciously provided his personal information, while the second is direct disclosure, where a person decides an active choice to provide his personal information.

Getting a wider scope of this study, also explored differences in a user’s country, education level, and age. Also, how a user reacts to a website can lead him to provide more of his information.

Education differences can also influence a user to provide his personal information to a particular website. Users who never went to college or those who have a lower level of education might give out more personal questions involuntarily.

Statistics

In this study, European Commission’s Joint Centre conducted a survey testing different web designs with over 3,000 users across Europe, results proved that these web designs can greatly affect any individual to give out their personal information.

Variations among countries were also noticed. Taking into consideration the cultures and traditions of each. According to this survey, 75% of participants in Italy chose to answer positively, compared to other percentages got by other countries, Poland with 81%, Germany with 83% and the UK with 92%.

Roughly 73% of women answered ‘never’ to questions asking whether they had ever engaged in “socially-stigmatized” behavior, compared to men who have a percentage of just 27. This study proved that every web design created by the web designers can greatly affect the decision of each user to provide personal information without them realizing it.

Why are Web Designs Important?

One of the most important aspects of an e-commerce site is how it looks. Aside from having a fully functional website, it is also vital to have a site that attracts people’s attention. More so, it must be attractive enough to let them stay and browse through your site’s offerings. Take note that one of the most important aspects of an online business presence is its web designs.

Web designs will also depend on the type of business. While there are many web designers who can do the job, it takes a well-skilled person to design the perfect site for you. Here are other reasons why good web design is important to your business:

  • A well-designed site promotes more customer conversions. If you have a website that is pleasing to the eye, you will attract more people to visit your site. Thus, it is much easier for you to get customer conversions.
  • A responsive website can reach more clients. As of today, people use their smartphones more in browsing through the internet and do business. This is why you need a responsive mobile version of your site to increase your clients.
  • A good-looking site will help establish your brand. The overall look of your websites will either build or destroy your brand.

Why Outsource Web Designing?

Aside from your e-commerce site, part of establishing a good online presence is keeping up with the trends. Thus, keeping up with the trends also include your web design. Aside from this, here are other reasons why you should outsource your web designs:

  • Saves time. You can save a lot of your precious time if you outsource your web design. As you can see, designing and redesigning your own site will require some time, this is not something that you can do overnight.
  • Professional look. While there are some platforms where you can easily build a website for free, it doesn’t mean that it is always the right thing to do. When it comes to the actual design and look of your site, you need to entrust it to a professional.
  • Improve your engagement. Outsourcing your web design to a professional will not only give your site a fresh look, but you can also be assured of having fast loading pages, increased engagement, a much better overall user experience, and good navigation.
  • Make sure everyone can see your site. As we have mentioned earlier, having your own e-commerce site nowadays is not enough. People must have the same user experience when they visit your site via their smartphones or tablets. Furthermore, it is more likely that these people will be using their phones to view and browse through your site. Outsourcing your web design to an expert will ensure you a mobile-friendly application.
